We recently welcomed Alex Makel onto the DonsAction Committee but he is also Vice-Captain of DonsAction FC. Alex has been kind enough to give us a season review of our amazing season. Enjoy. 

 

DAFC 2024/25 Season Review

DonsAction FC began the 2024/25 campaign with optimism and ended it as unbeaten league champions, racking up 18 wins, 2 draws, and zero defeats from their 20 league games. Scoring a staggering 95 goals while conceding just 31, DAFC combined attacking power with defensive strength in a very successful first season.

🔹 August

The season started in style with a dominant win. Ruthless in front of goal and solid at the back, our opening game featured Jordan Aylett’s stunning strike which was later voted Goal of the Season.

🔹 September

4 games, 4 wins, 100% record maintained.
Some strong performances ensured DAFC remained top. A dramatic 3-2 win against Bletchley Scot highlighted the team’s determination to continue their record.

🔹 October

A month with 2 draws against a physical MK Walton FC side. DAFC also had dominant wins over Inter MK and MB United.

🔹 November

Our only game in November almost saw a cup upset in a thrilling 6-4 loss to Premier Division leaders Nags Head, with the game sat at 4-4 with 10 minutes to go, but DAFC eventually ran out of steam.

🔹 December

Back to league form with a dominant 9-3 win over MB United,. Another cup game against a team from a higher division resulted with a 5-2 win over Sporting MK.

🔹 January

A tough cup exit at OB City was followed by a return to winning ways with a 6-2 demolition of Furzton and a 3-0 win against Buckingham B.

🔹 February

Awarded a walkover against Inter MK after they fielded an ineligible player, the team then dismantled Stacey Bushes 7-1.

🔹 March

3 games in March saw the team pick up maximum points, putting in 3 excellent performances against teams that posed different challenges. Win our next game in April and we’re crowned champions, regardless of other results….

🔹 April

With 3 games of the season remaining, DAFC not only wanted to win the league but wanted to maintain their unbeaten league status… and they done it convincingly. The team also FINALLY hit double figures in a game against Furzton.

End of Season Awards Night

The team celebrated in style at The Duke of Wellington. We reflected on an  incredible season with a quiz, plenty of drinks, and handmade pizzas courtesy of our very own Jasper Price.

DonsAction FC are now looking forward to competing in Division 1 next season. Although it will be a more challenging league, DAFC are going into it full of confidence and will ultimately be looking to make it back-to-back promotions.
